Ok, that's not the official name for this class ... but I think it should be :) Lynsey Allred and I are teaming up, once again, to throw a huge scrap a thon class! You make five 2-page layouts. There will be lunch provided! Bring a friend ... get a surprise!

*A note on the cost: Last time we did our scrap class we went COMPLETELY negative :) Plus, since then, the price of paper has increased. To compensate for this, we had to reduce the number of layouts we are offering. We will do a scrap class every Feb/Mar, May, and September.

February Club Project

Ok, I must admit, when the catalog came out ... I didn't LOVE this set. I didn't hate it. It's cute. But who would buy and and when would I use it? A friend mentioned she liked it and needed to get it. hmph. Ok?!? Then I saw it at convention. I all of the sudden liked it SO much more! I mean, once you see it used 30 different times in 30 different ways ... it's hard not to fall in love! I got it quickly afterwards, and then it sat on my shelf. I haven't done a ton with it since. I've made something here and there, but I've never really gotten my hands dirty with it!

Late last night I decided that I was going to focus on clear mount stamps for club this week, and aviary is one of the few clear sets I own. So let's play. I sat down at my computer and searched for "aviary" on Stampin' Connection, an online community for Stampin' Up demonstrators. I quickly found this first card. It won me over. How great is the contrasting turquoise and pumpkin? Add the suede, which I rarely use, and there you have it! I would never have put these colors together, but I love it. (p.s. YES that's retired DSP. I know ... I know .... )

This is the card I originally had in mind. I just wanted to make it up to see how I'd like it. I think I'll make it as a bonus project this week. If my ladies want to make this card, they can add it on to their order for $1.

What do you think? Which do you like better? Tough call, all I know is that I LOVE that little owl.

The other club project will be a Valentines day project. I don't have a good picture of that card yet. I will post it as soon as it's made!

January Club Projects

The theme for January's club is Watercolor Crayons. FINALLY the quality issue with the crayons have been resolved and they are ready to purchase!

Christmas Tag Class

Imagine how your gifts will look at Christmas time with these adorable tags attached to them! Come and get them done before the hussle of the holiday season is upon us. You'll make 40 tags of various designs. Each tag will have sticky strip on the back so that they're easy to attach to your presents.

Date: Saturday, November 13th or Wednesday, November 17th

Time: 10:00 - 12:00/6:00-9:00

Cost: $10 for the first set, and $8 for each additional set.

Please RSVP and prepay by Tuesday, November 9th.

October Stamp-A-Stack

I LOVE having a monthly stamp a stack. I love that it challenges me to do new things and come up with new ideas. I'm particularly proud of these cards.

Each attendee will make 15 cards, 3 each of the 5 designs.

Date: Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Time: 6:00. The whole stack will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Cost: $15. Club members receive a 10% discount to all classes and will pay only $13.50

Please bring adhesive. I will have my favorite adhesive there to purchase for $3 a refill.

Satin Ribbon Flower -- Tutorial

Last July, I saw an awesome technique at convention and I have been dieing to try it. It uses the satin ribbon and I just haven't invested in many different shades of this ribbon, even though I absolutely LOVE it! While I was thinking about how to finish out my last of the five Stamp A Stack cards, I remembered this technique and was determined to try it. Today, I finished the card and I am SO excited to share it with you!

First cut a circle with the sticky sheets. This circle is 2 inches

Then take about 18 inches of the satin ribbon, I used the Very Vanilla ribbon, and cut it about every 3/4 inches. I also curved the ribbon a bit so the petals will turn out a bit softer, but you can keep it square (the first time I tried this I kept it square, since I forgot about the trimming, either way the flower is awesome!)

Take a heat gun and heat up the ribbon until it bends. This does take a bit of time, especially the first time you do it because the gun has to heat up.

After the ribbon is heated and curled, take the sticky circle, remove one side of the adhesive, and start to curve the ribbon around the circle.

Keep it going until the entire circle is filled with ribbon.

If there is extra ribbon, just trim it off. If you need more ribbon, cut a few more inches and keep it going. I like this just like this, or it would be adorable to add an antique brad to it or a button. use your imagination.

Announcing a Stamp a Stack Renovation!

I have changed the way I do a stamp a stack. With my new class format, you don't have to choose between your favorite cards ... you get to make them all! Each Stamp a Stack will include 3 cards of 5 designs each -- so you will be making 15 total. Enough that you can have your sample and give the rest to friends and family. I would like to start offering this class once a month, so make sure to add the third Tuesday to your calendar each month: SAS w/JEN :)

Date: September 21, 2010

Time: 6:00 (and yes, I know that this is not 7! hehe)

Cost: $15

What to Bring: Adhesive. I will have SNAIL refills there for you to purchase.

Club Time Again

I am so super excited for club to roll around again! The current club is FULL, but I am looking to start another one in October or November ... so if you are interested please let me know!

Here's how club works: 10 ladies get together for 10 months. Each lady commits to spending a minimum of $15 at each club night. The total will be at least $150 between all of the club-ers, so we have a total high enough to submit a workshop. The 10 club ladies take turns being the hostess, bringing the yummy treats, and they get to make fun cards.

The best part is ... you don't even have to clean your living room!

I am trying something new this year. I am offering a card only club. This is for those of you who LOVE the personal feeling of a hand stamped card, but don't have time to make them yourself, or don't have the desire to purchase all of the products. INSTEAD of ordering $15 out of the catalogs, you pay $15 and get 10 cards and 10 envelopes. This will cover your club cost. When it is your turn to be the hostess, you can either get stuff from the catalog, or we can make a deal. We'll see how it turns out. I'm pretty excited about this choice.

My job is to come up with (steal) new innovative fun club projects. I am so excited about this month's theme. At convention a couple of weeks ago, we had a special "stamp-a-thon" and the big WOW project was using aluminum flashing. We made cute magnets and fun candle holder things. I decided I wanted to use this on cards too. Here's the club project(s)this month. My card only ladies will go home with 6 of each since they get to make the cards themselves too.

I am so excited for my next card club to start. The past ones that I have run have been relatively conservative. The basics. This year I plan to WOW! To get you excited (because I already am!) ... here is one of the cards we will be making the first Tuesday and Thursday in August:

Stamp - a- Stack

My next class will be on Thursday, July 16th from 6 - 9 p.m. This is a Stamp-A-Stack class -- where you stamp 10 cards of one design. The three cards you can choose from are:

Price: $10 for first stack (10 cards total), $18 for second stack (20 cards total) and $24 for third stack (30 cards total). I only have space for 5 more people -- so register early!!

The purpose of this event -- come and see what it is like to be a member of my 2009/2010 stamp club. Basically -- here is how it works: 10 people get together once a month for 10 months. Each member commits to spending $15 a month. The hostess benefits rotate from person to person -- allowing all to build their stamping supplies -- but only spending a minimal amount each month.

There are two clubs available. One is the first Tuesday of every month, the other the third Thursday. Each member will be able to choose if they want to be a "card" member or a "scrapbooking" member. The same projects will be available at both club nights -- you choose which member you want to be! Space is limited -- first come -- first served!

If you want to join the club, but can't make it to the try it out night -- let me know which date you want to join! You don't want to miss it!!

My Stampin' Blog

Stampin' Up has a great demonstratorship program. It allows it's demonstrators to do anything from being a "hobby" demonstrator to being a "career" demonstrator. In March 2003 I started off my adventure as a "career" demonstrator. When I graduated from USU and put my education to use as a middle school educator, I changed my focus of my business down to a hobby demonstrator. Now that Jace is born, I would like to stay home, but we can't afford it. Over the course of the next year or two I am going to try to focus on my business. I am going to try to build it to a point that I can stay home with Jace. We live in difficult financial times so I am nervous to try and manage a sales based business -- but I feel that this is what I need to be doing now.

I plan on using this website to keep my friends and customers up to date with what is going on in the stampin' world. I also will post pictures of different projects that I create (or steal from others) and any promotions that are going on. I hope that you enjoy your time while I "put my stamp on the world!"
